Did you know that you will most likely make the same amount of money as the 5 people who you spend the most time with? You’ll also respond, react and feel like they do in a lot of areas too. Who you hang out with rules your life. Kind of makes you look at your friends in a different light, doesn’t it?

Have you ever noticed that when you’re single you generally hang out more with single people and when one of the group gets married they just don’t fit in quite the same way?

This pattern carries over in so many ways in life. We are so influenced by the people we spend the most time with.

Have you felt a detachment from a long time friend when you get a promotion or maybe you join a new group or religion or take up a new hobby that they don’t do?

You don’t feel as joined at the hip as you once did. Why is that?

I think perhaps it’s because you are breaking out of the mold of what your “group” looks like, feels like or what it does… you’ve broken the rules and changed. So now you don’t fit in anymore. Sometimes it’s a blessing when it’s time to move on, grow up or change some old patterns. Sometimes when we are the one being left behind, we feel left out.

It really makes you think about “group think” in a new way. So if you and all your friends are always struggling with money, would you go to them for money advice? Well the sad but so often true answer is that we almost always go to them… that’s why we’re all in the same boat…we’re all doing the same things.

So when you need help with your body, you go to a body expert… health issues, you go to a health expert….. money matters, go to someone who is making big bucks… talk to an expert!

Your attitudes in your everyday life are really influenced by who you hang out with. Choose wisely those people with whom you spend time. You become who “you hang out with”. If most of your friends are negative naysayers who reinforce that your dreams are merely pipe dreams, chances are you will not achieve them. If you want success in your life, surround yourself with successful people. Want to be positive about your life? Make positive people your friends.
